‘Reconceive’, the second release of the progressive metal band, The Quiet Room. The sextet have a strange name and contrary to their name, they have play aggressive music much in the vein of early Dream Theater. The album has 11 tracks which vary from 3 minute to 7 minute structure which are not usually found in other progressive metal albums. The album has a mix of aggression and also melody where the vocalist Peter Jewell has done an excellent job. The vocals on "Reconceive" provide a very heavy yet dynamic and musical foreground to the new sound which the band has tried to provide. His voice variations are from heavy anger aggressive(sometimes sounds like PANTERA) to the epic and melodious. The album starts of with ‘Suffercation’, a heavy mix of angry vocals and heavy guitar work. Feels like Phil Anselmo singing for a prog. band. The tracks ‘Reason for change’ the only slow song on the album with amazing guitar solos and variations of sound that the vocalist is capable of. ‘Room 15’ is also is another mind-blowing track which also happens to be the only instrumental track on the CD. The last track ‘Two Minutes Later’ has only a piano and the vocalist saying things on war, truth, corruption with people screaming in the background. The album cover is also done nicely. Overall, a good album for the prog metal fans.
