Excellent black metal from Norway! Limbonic Art is sure to stand out in the Norwegian black metal scene, and they unchain themselves to unleash some epic, and mighty black metal with their first masterpiece " MOON IN THE SCORPIO" ! The right album to pick up if you have never heard about Limbonic Art before! Moon in the scorpio has symphonic black metal feel to it, Dominance of superfluous keyboards and frequent changes in the tempo to their songs is done to perfection.Reminds me of Dimmu Borgir always when it comes down to alot of keys, but theres no comparison here. This 2 piece band come out with great original material.Contributions on keyboards by Morpheus is something totally different, and the finishes he comes out with can be expected from and only from a limbonic art album. Depressive moods and pouncing Grey skies right over your head! Limbonic Art uses the drum machine , computerized may be, which shouldn’t matter at all, as far as the notes can be heard going in pattern to the rhythms and other instruments used in completion to this album. Drums keep changing, more or less they are blasphemic, and consistently going fast, slamming away furiously. The guitars remain distorted to a raw scale. Its hidden, shadowy throughout; since the sound is lagging behind to the keys and vocals. The entire cd stands mainly on keyboards and vocals. Discrepancy in vocals add another positive point to the cd.The presence of evil chants, high screeching like most black metal bands come out with, clean singing , whispers in between the songs and the accompanying role here by female vocals ; to the narrative verses – chorus on the whole gives the cd a dark perception. Not much to the production either, the label behind this release is Nocturnal Art Productions, owned by Emperor’s – Samoth. The only factor pulling my brain down to rate this album a bit lower is the guitar sound. Should it have been more clear this cd would have really deserved a better grade. Having 6 tracks and when the cd runs upto approx 1 – hour of classic atmospherical black metal, its undoubtlessly, an effort that limbonic art can come out with amazing variations to their songs which last upto 8 mins on average. Maintaining the change in tempo, the cd does take the listener in a trance where he keeps flying in the galaxy and shifts his way to every other planet as the song switches – till the end. The theme of this album mainly focuses on darkness, and a background filled with an astral/cosmic feeling. Daemon includes his visions in the form of words for limbonic arts release. Great song writing! Another addition here to this review are these strange noises a few electronical moves i guess, sounding like ravens, thundering weather, and an overall torturing approach taken for the intros and ends to the compositions. Play it loud, to feel the moaning, the cries and an imaginary darker side of your life go by. This is what Limbonic art is all about! A bit of folk influences can be crossed out, but not very dominant. For me to probably name a few bands standing near to Limbonic Art works could be Samael, Dimmu Borgir,Early Emperor,a bit of Ancient and Satyricon. Tracks outstanding:- Through gleams of death,In mourning mystique,Beyond the candles burning,Darkzone martyrium. Its got all of it. Dark, Ambience,Suicidal Emotions and Any listener probably into Atmospherical Black Metal wouldnt mind committing a sin : getting his hand on this copy!
