Infernal Revulsion is a Japanese Death Metal band which was formed in 2005. They have also been featured on the YouTube documentary Japanese Extreme Metal.

This promo released in 2008 features two tracks namely, “Dead but breathing” and “Contemptuous corruption”. Infernal Revulsion’s strength lies in writing really heavy slams. The musicianship displayed in this promo is fairly elaborate .The two tracks as a whole feel very menacing which is exactly what good death metal should sound like and not just technical malarkey. But the guitarist while writing the riffs for the song has only shown inclination towards the monotonous without braving to differ. The high point about Infernal is their vocals. When most death metal bands have sub-par and average vocalists who have no fluctuation in their voice and sing a single note, more or less Infernal Revulsion is not so. The vocals are deep and intense. If one has listened to any of the previous releases from the band, he would be a bit disappointed as there is nothing new and interesting to offer. But Infernal Revulsion definitely manages to do justice to Slam genre in an enjoyable – if unoriginal – way.

Hence it would be justified for me to conclude that Infernal Revulsion is really a Gem of the Japanese underground Death Metal scene along with Disconformity and Gotsu Totsu Kotsu.
