In Flames – Clayman

Clayman, the lastest offering by the Swedish melodic Death Metal band ‘IN FLAMES’, is yet another master piece by the band which is a followup to the immensely successful ‘Colony’. Beginning with The Jester Race, In Flames established a sound that carried through to Whoracle, Colony, and now to Clayman. Though the band hasn’t changed much of their style of music, the new album promises much of the same melodies and hooks as the previous IN FLAMES’s albums. The new album has 11 tracks of riffs full of energy, aggresive vocals and some melodic and heavy lines. The opener track ‘Bullet Ride’, already get a cult following, is an excellent piece of work by the band which actually goes to overshadow the entire album. Other tracks like ‘Pinball Map’ and ‘Clayman’ have the elements of heaviness as well as the catchy riffs which IN FLAMES has been producing throughout the years. The other tracks like ‘Satellites and Astronauts’ and ‘Square Nothing’ show the more mellow and epic side of that band whereas the tracks like ‘Swim’ shows the band’s amazing guitar work which is just plain and simple. In totality, the album is a good one for those who already are fans of IN FLAMES and for those who are into fast catchy melodies and riffs. A melodious, headbangable and addictive as it gets album.
