Quote Unquote Umesh Amtey "Anyone who likes Darkthrone is a friend of mine". I really don’t know the origins of this band. I had got it as a trade with Negur. And its definitely one of the best releases I have heard in some time. Old School, Grim, Primitive, Simple, Cold. You name it and they have all the ingredients to make it a complete "pure" BLACK METAL album. The minute the album starts you know these guys have really HEARD and SUNK Transylvanian Hunger. The depressive mood, the feeling of despair, the sweet pain and engulfing coldness ……simply mind-blowing. The opener really sets the tone for the rest of the album. The strong influences of Darkthrone and Judas Iscariot are inevitably splattered across the whole album. Still, they have managed to come out with music, which is definitely not a rip-off. Alternating between fast (mostly) and mid-tempo (intermittently) pace, the chord progressions are amazingly refreshing, evocative and leaving at the end…a feeling of (un) divine bliss, a feeling of satisfaction. Their songs do stand out on their own. The band may have limited ideas…but superb execution and that’s the whole point. They have successfully demonstrated that you don’t really need to "expand" to give a fresh idea to the listener. There are still enough uncharted musical territories within the original realms of black metal. There is still enough coldness and grimness to unravel and communicate to the ardent fan. Highly Recommended.
