The metal scene in Nepal has been limited to gigs on smaller scale with local bands performing in clubs or colleges. However the metal music fan base is big and looking forward to more bands coming to Nepal. Last year Silence Entertainment had Swiss extreme metallers ENIGMATIK headline the event along with THE MOTHER ROCKER’S GANG also from Switzerland and with several supporting acts. The crowd turn up was honestly more than what they had expected. That year they also conducted 2 workshops by ENIGMATIK and THE MOTHER ROCKER’S GANG.
This year 2011 is described as a “TOURISM YEAR 2011” all over the world. Keeping this in mind they are once again conducting a Metal Fest ‘Silence Festival’ to show the world that Nepal has a fair amount of metal fans and can conduct the event in style. As the Tourism Year 2011 is drawing near to its end, they just wanted to put the comma on October 15th with the bands performing from International and domestic arena. With the best lights and equipment (International standard) is sure to put the audience at awe.
With their previous experience, this year they have brought bands like ‘Vader’ who hail from Poland, The ‘Helmut’ from Switzerland, ‘Commando Noise Terror’ from Switzerland, ‘InnerGuilt’ from Lebanon, ‘Innercore’ from Hong Kong, and Mr. Laos Etremendi the sound engineer who enthusiastically engineers sound for the band GOJIRA . Nepal’s own amazing domestic bands like ‘Antim Grahan’ and ‘Hatebook’ will be playing their hearts out to show the world that these bands are no different than any others from around the globe.
