The Multiverse Concept is a solo project started by Aksheya Chandar, the current bassist of Virion( formerly known as Insanity Quotient) and the ex guitarist of Upheaval.
The Multiverse Concept endeavours to venture out beyond the bounds of conventional metal by concocting a mélange of groove metal, djent, blues and metalcore. Thus, the name symbolises the unlimited musical possibilities that can exist in this project and in music at large.
Recorded at Refractor Studios, Pune, the project’s first EP, ‘Conversations with the Boatman‘, derives it’s theme from the mythological tale that after death, the soul must journey across the river Styx by boat to the afterlife. It is a journey akin to life itself, but with a new colour to those same experiences. The news of death heralds in denial which is met by the crimson skies of what lies beyond. The soul moves on to drift on perilous waters, until it is finally embraced by salvation. With salvation comes an acceptance and the will to move on.
The EP features Aksheya Chandar(composer, songwriter, guitars, bass, lyricist), Adhiraj Singh of Noiseware(producer), Gagan Gill(guest vocalist). Artwork done by Aniket Patni of Noiseware.
It is available as digital download on Bandcamp. Limited hard copies for sale. The EP was released on 8th Feb, 2012.
