‘Dementia‘ is a five-piece metal band from New Delhi. Their music is a mix of Progressive, Groove, Experimental & Melodic metal. The band is very much influenced from Dream Theatre, Opeth, Amogh Symphony, Tool, Avial, Textures, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom etc.

Rangarajan – Bass/ Vocals
Raghav – Keyboards
Reet – Drums

I would really like to understand better why your band is called Dementia? Is there a story behind it? If so, as a mental health professional, I’d be really interested to know what sparked your interest in Dementia (assuming of course, that the name of your band actually refers to the severely debilitating mental health condition).

Dear Shruti,
Yes Dementia our band name relates to the medical condition of the mind/ brain. The way we see it is that when someone hears our music then they are lost in the music and are unaware of their surroundings. We intend for our music to entrap the entire attention of the listener as if he/ she is lost in a trance similar to how someone suffering from Dementia is.
