‘Reckoning Storm‘ is a Karachi based one man Heavy Metal Instrumental project, by Saad Akhter Ali. He released a track ‘Armour of Defiance‘ from his work-in-progress album ‘Helemdor‘.

The idea took form in 2007-2008, when Saad Akhter Ali had been playing guitar for a while and making small demos. That’s when he decided to start making proper heavy-metal-instrumental tracks.

“The inspiration was this one song, titled ‘Mr Scary’ by Dokken. That was one guitar instrumental that was nothing like Satriani, Vai or Petrucci’s work, it was a guitar instrumental that was classic ‘heavy metal’ and very riffy. Inspired by that one track, and the idea of guitar instrumentals composed along the lines of classic heavy metal aka Ozzy/ Judas Priest/ Iron Maiden having no vocals, just riffing & soloing metal awesomeness, drove me to record and release my debut album ‘Age of Peril’ online, as a free download. Having continously composed and recorded since 2008, I am proud of my current work-in-progress- album titled ‘Helemdor’.”, commented Saad Akhter Ali.

Helemdor, is a story driven album (Medieval fantasy) that is being written, recorded and released simultaneously, as single MP3 pack downloads. The MP3 pack downloads are hosted on his website. The best part is that it contains the story scroll for each track so that you can relate while having a listen.
