blueFROG present Metal Nights with Devoid, Zygnema and Providence on January 22 at 9m at blueFROG.
Mumbai based metal supergroup, Providence, will be releasing their debut EP ‘Vanguard‘ at the gig.
Devoid
Devoid was formed in the year 2005. The band then comprised of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Arun Iyer, drummer Shubham Kumar and the lead guitarist Keshav Kumar. This predominantly thrash based band soon felt the need for a bass guitarist and the search went on till finally Devoid saw its new permanent bassy, Frank Pawar.
Zygnema
Zygnema is a Mumbai based heavy/thrash groove metal band that mainly focuses on the social/political “screw-ups” and loves to dig deep down on riffs that are heavy and groove oriented. Formed in August 2005, Zygnema is particularly known for their immensely energetic and aggressive live performances. With a list of versatile compositions from their debut album “Born of Unity”, the band has been on a rampage, ripping every stage they step on.
Providence
Conceived on seedy lanes of Nagardas, Providence is a vile blend of old school groove and modern brutality. Armed with sludge-laden riffs backed by cheap booze, and a bludgeoning assault of speed and groove, the quintet is known to deliver a sound that matches very few. The band has been around for a little over four months, and has caught the attention of quite a few already. Bringing together a broad spectrum of sounds from bands such as Bhayanak Maut, Chronic Phobia, Sceptre, and Blood Shed, Providence blends the finer influences to create a sound that stays true, unremitting, metal.
