For over 22 years, German giants, Wacken Open Air have successfully tapped into the minds of thousands of heavy metal music lovers, who flock into this 3 day festival extravaganza, just to have the time of their lives. This year, Wacken Open Air, extends their support to make Bangalore Open Air a successful annual property catering to the huge Metal audience being the only dedicated Heavy Metal Festival in India.
Salman U. Syed (Infinite Dreams) said, “Having been a proud participant of Wacken every year, it was a dream of mine to bring a part of something so big, here, in the Heavy Metal capital of India. It is our humble attempt to contribute to the ever growing metal scene in India, and I hope that it becomes a stepping stone for music festivals like this, to develop in our country”.
Thomas Jensen: “India is kind of a new market for us, but the fans there are absolutely raring. We had some of our bands touring India and they all were absolutely excited and stoked about the mentality and addiction of Indian people regarding Metal and their favorite bands. We´re really looking forward to support the people from Infinite Dreams and Bangalore Open Air in the organization of their event to bring even more Metal to India.”
Holger Hübner: “Since a few years we have a very good relationship with the guys from infinite Dreams. They already helped us bringing the W:O:A Metal Battle to India which was a huge success. Having the chance to support them in organising the Bangalore Open Air is a matter of course, because Indian people, as far as we have experienced, are a blast if it comes to Metal and they deserve to have a great Metal Open Air in their country. We´re really looking forward to this”
The festival is due to happen in the month of June and will feature two main headlining international heavy-metal bands and other opening Indian acts. The Annual Wacken Metal Battle zonal finals is also scheduled to happen at Bangalore Open Air.
