SAARANG 14, the cultural fest of IIT Madras has announced British metalcore band, ARCHITECTS, as the headliner for this year’s rock show. Previously big bands like Opeth, Hammerfall, Anathema, Vildjhartahave performed at the fest. This year’s Saarang fest takes place on Jan 11 at OAT, IIT Madras.
Architects is a British Metalcore band from Brighton, England. The multi-genre influence and the amazing song writing ability to make the complex digestive, and to make it addictive is prevalent in their powerful guitar riffs which is taken over by another layer of melodic riff, with the precise arrangement of drums, the clean and aggressive vocals, and the mesmerizing lyrics bringing all their fans to sing along, completes an experience that we would like to call “unique”.
“We love playing music and we love touring” says one of the band members, these music lovers on August 2012 embarked upon a 100 day tour over 25 countries which will lead to another milestone in the band’s career, as the band is all set to release a film of the 100 day tour whose fund was completely raised from the loyal fans of the band from all around the world. The band has played in some of the biggest festivals in the world like Download festival, Summer breeze festival, Resurrection fest, Grasspop Metal meeting, Sonisphere festival, Hellfest and has toured in some of the coveted tours like the Vans Wraped tour with some of the biggest names in the metal world like Deftones, August Burns Red, Enter Shikari, Whitechapel, All That remains and list goes on.
Till date, the band has released 5 Studio albums, and is set to release its sixth, and over the years it has worked with many notable record labels like In at the Deep End records, United by Fate records, Thirty Days of the Night records, Distort Entertainment and Century Media records, the record label that it is currently signed to and among the top independent record labels in Metal worldwide.
The band has over 340 thousand Facebook likes, over a million YouTube view, and over 13 million Last.fm scrobbles which screams out the massive following the band has all over the world. Their third album, Hollow Crown, was rated KKKKK, which is equivalent to 5 stars, in the Kerang! magazine in UK, which is the best-selling British music newspaper. Their latest album, the Daybreaker, charted among the top 50 in the UK Album Charts and the Top Heatseekers chart in US.
