Hello! How are things at your end? How was it playing at the undergrind gig?
Cheers Atul ! everything is going fine with us.To start off, with “UNDERGRIND GIG” was just amazing. It was great pleasure playing with Gorified and other underground bands along with bunch of sick maniacs.
We would like to know more about the whole idea of the undergrind gigs & your experience at 2 of such gigs? What has been the attendance and response?
The main intention of the undergrind gig was mainly to promote Indian underground bands. This show made way for bands to outcast their brutality. The undergrind gig provides exposure to the bands who haven’t made to the Indian scene. It was a show case for all bands ranging from Death metal to Goregrind, stirring more energy for upcoming bands. As mentioned earlier, the experience in these shows was mind blowing. We doubt there would be any better place than this for us to perfrom. It was one such experience were we got the proper sound and required time to unleash our stuff. The crowd wasn’t too great when compared to the other shows in the city.Just a few sickos to mosh and scream around like molested zombies. The response was not as expected,as the music we play is quite weird to most of them.Towards the end as we belted out covers from Gut and Last Days Of Humanity, the crowd did respond well.
Do you think a country like India, where even the regular metal bands are struggling to do their own thing, the underground bands have something unique to offer?
I think the UG bands from Bangalore have their unique sound which has made them successive in the Global underground scene.Definitely UG bands will be more sicker and brutal than other bands and for sure will be a great asset as far as Indian underground is concerned.
Bands like Gruesome Malady (Bangalore) and Gorified (Bangalore) have already got an overwhelming response at the worldwide underground, what do you think is the reason behind their success, is it because of the support by their respective labels bizarre leprous and severed records or is it the shear talent that has been recognized?
Congrats to Gruesome Malady and Gorified. The reason behind their success is dedication towards musick.Apart from the support by their respective labels these guys possess raw talent within them which has helped to produce quality stuff.
As I can see, you guys are fairly young to attempt this kind of genre, tell us what brings you towards this kind of music? What are the primary bands you guys follow in the UG scene?
We are tired of seeing the usual Nu metal and crap bands performing here.We thought of getting into music which has aggression, brutality and sickness. It all happened when we heard a song from Mortician and we nearly pissed our selves and was so amazed. That was basically where our new level of sickness and brutality began. We are influenced by bands like,Impetigo,Mortician,Gut,Last Days Of Humanity,Meatknife,Cock And Ball Torture,Regurgitate,Dead Infection,Napalm Death,Oxidised Razor,Rompeprop,Plasma,Lymphatic Phlegm and loads of other gore/porn/grind bands.
How’s your music different to bands in US or Europe? What do your lyrics basically talk about & who does the writing?
We wouldn’t say our music is totally different to bands in US and Europe as we are mainly influenced by them, but we try to maintain an unique sound. Our lyrics is twisted and lased with Gore, Porn, Cannibalism, Coprophillia, Vomit, Necrophillia, Zombies, Snuff, Offal Diseases, Horror, Infection and sickness goes on.
Since you have only played in your hometown till now, which I suppose has got a cult following in terms of the UG scène, are there any other cities in India you are willing to play at? And you think have a potential to grow as far as UG following is concerned?
We play a few selected shows as we concentrate on composing newer stuff to record. We don’t mind playing at places where there is support for the underground.
Among the current extreme bands in India, which one do you think has a future? And why?
Ahhhh!!!!I don’t know much about Indian extreme bands.Gruesome and Gorified have achieved in the international scene.Perforated Limb an upcoming technical brutal death band from Bangalore who are interesting, these guys have something to contribute to the Indian underground. These guys sound different from other bands and have a lot of potential.
I am sure you must be aware about the tremendous UG culture in Asian countries especially Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia & Singapore, any emerging bands from these countries which you admire?
Yeah, the Japanese and the Indonesian scene is doing very good. There are quality bands emerging from these countries. To name a few bands we got inspired are Butcher ABC,Maggut,CUM,Bloody Gore and A Good Day For Killing.
Coming down to your practice sessions, how often do they happen & where? According to you what is the most important element for a UG band to succeed?
Practice session most important part of a band.We make it a point that we practice at the weekends and if possible even weekdays. The practice sessions happens in drummer’s place which we think is ideal for a band. First of all dedication towards music, more genre’s you listen to makes a band to have their original sound.
How soon can we expect to hear you on an EP or an album, do you have some songs ready? Through whom do you plan to release it?
Hopefully by July we would be recording our Gore stenched stuff if everything goes on as planned. We would be doing EP and if we get a good deal,by year end full length album Will be out. We have couple of sick, putrid and decomposed songs ready and we are trying to improvise on it and keeping as sick as possible. We planned to release it through gore/porngrind labels from Europe,US and Japan like Bizzare Leprous,Bones Brigade,Last House On The Right,Rotting Bowels prod and Obliteration records.
Thank you so much for your time! Any special message you want to give to your fans & readers?
Cheers and thanks for your support,I think this message should go to the readers rather than fans as we are not known to much people. All we can say is support the underground and keep grinding!!!!!!!
